I am trying to get lighter on the bars and move earlier, but exaggerated street hanging-off feels unnecessary. What drills helped make position smoother at reasonable pace?

Street miles, track lessons.

Lead with your eyes and upper body, then let a small hip movement follow. Moving before turn-in prevents the mid-corner wrestling match.

    Smooth is fast enough.

Parking-lot figure eights helped me separate lower-body support from steering input, even though the position is not the same as a fast corner.

A novice track instructor can spot one posture issue in a session that is hard to feel on your own. Video is useful too.

    Ride your own pace.
