Rain mode: useful tool or just a softer throttle map?

My bike cuts power and raises traction-control intervention in rain mode. I use it in actual rain, but I am wondering whether it is also useful for cold tires and early-season rides.

Street miles, track lessons.

I use it for the first cold commute of the season. The softer initial response makes my inputs calmer even if the electronics never intervene.

    Smooth is fast enough.

It is a tool, not extra grip. Painted arrows and metal covers stay slippery regardless of the dash mode.

Practicing smooth control in full-power mode still matters. I do not want a setting to become a substitute for attention.

    Ride your own pace.
