For a first visit, is Leakey still the easiest base? Interested in fuel timing, weekday traffic, and places where riders should be extra respectful of residents.

    Weekday mornings have been the calmest in my experience. I still plan the route with a fuel buffer and assume shaded sections may be damp.

    Smooth is fast enough.
