I have never paid for a professional baseline. Besides sag, what should the technician measure or explain so I leave with something more useful than unexplained clicker changes?

They should ask about weight with gear, pace, roads, tires, and what the bike is doing. A setup without rider feedback is just a generic chart.

Get the before-and-after settings written down. My shop also explained which adjustment to try first for common symptoms.

A good technician will say when spring rate is outside the useful range instead of hiding it with preload.
