I would rather not splice resistors into every corner. Is an electronic flasher relay usually the better route, and are there downsides with the dash indicator circuit?

Smooth is fast enough.

    A model-specific electronic relay was plug-and-play on mine and avoids turning electrical energy into heat through resistors.

    Maintenance before modifications.

    Some bikes control flashing through the dash or body module, so check the wiring diagram before ordering a generic relay.

    Brightness and viewing angle matter more than tiny housings. Have someone watch from a car-length back in daylight before calling the job finished.
