Modern fuel-injected bike, normal street temperatures. I start it, put on helmet and gloves, then leave at low load. Curious what routine people use and why.

    I wait long enough for stable idle and oil circulation, then ride gently. The whole drivetrain warms more evenly under light load than sitting still.

    Maintenance before modifications.

    My routine is start last, not first. Jacket and helmet go on before ignition so it is not idling for several minutes.

    Coolant temperature is not oil temperature. Even after the dash looks normal, I avoid high rpm until the bike has had real riding time.

    Smooth is fast enough.
