Looking at the used sportbike market right now, the pricing seems insane.
Are people so used to paying crazy new-bike prices that they’re now willing to overpay for used bikes too?
It also makes me wonder if this is part of why dealers push GAP insurance so hard. The second you roll a new bike off the showroom floor, it’s probably worth 5–10% less than what you just paid for it.
Either way, it sure feels like the market has swung hard in favor of sellers.

Back in 1997, I started Sportbikes.net with one simple goal — meet more like-minded sportbike riders. What started as a small community quickly grew into something much bigger as riders from all over joined for the same reason: the passion for motorcycles, riding, and the culture that came with it.
Over the years, social media changed everything. Facebook groups made communities feel scattered, disorganized, and temporary. Great discussions disappeared overnight, build threads got buried, and the sense of identity that old-school forums created slowly faded away.
So I finally decided — screw it. It’s time to build something again.
With today’s technology, there’s an opportunity to bring back what made the original sportbike communities special while creating a modern experience built for today’s riders. Better organization, custom features, cleaner layouts, mobile-first design, media-rich profiles, garages, ride groups, events, and real community — not just endless algorithm feeds.
Sportbikes have always been a passion of mine, and now my kids share that same passion too. There are a lot of new riders entering the scene, but the core idea remains the same: riders connecting with riders.
It’s time to bring the sportbike community back. -

So with the weather starting to be warmer.. do you always wear a jacket? How about pants?
I have seen a lot of riders in shorts and flip flops. Flip flops being the worst.. imagine grabbing a toe on pavement..
